Maybelline Pure Mineral Foundation Review

Mineral makeup has been gaining popularity among women since the past few years. This kind of makeup is said to be hypoallergenic, so it works wonderfully for women with sensitive skin. It is specially formulated so it can be used by women for all skin types. It is also said to be water resistant so even if you sweat or go swimming, you would still have coverage to conceal your blemishes. The benefits of mineral makeup are virtually endless. I have not used any kind of mineral makeup yet and I have been wanting to try one kind of mineral makeup, so I bought the complete line of Maybelline Mineral Foundation.

MAYBELLINE PURE LIQUID MINERAL LIQUID FOUNDATION

My shade is BO1. The first thing that I noticed when I placed 1 pump of this foundation on the back of my hand was that it was so watery, thin and diluted. Application on my face was really easy. Since it was watery, blending was a breeze and getting an even application was effortless. The only downside of this foundation was that the coverage was not that great. You could still see blemishes and discoloration underneath even if I put on 2 coats of this foundation. After application, the feel of my skin was like I didn’t put any foundation on. It was very light. The finish of this foundation is semi-matte.

I recommend this foundation to people who do not have many imperfections on their skin that they need to conceal. If not, you should use a good concealer after using this foundation. Also, if your skin is oily, you should use a good powder after this since the finish of this foundation is not matte.

MAYBELLINE PURE FOUNDATION POWDER FOUNDATION

My shade is OC1. It comes with a small kabuki brush. The brush is soft, but its bristles are not that fine. It is small so when I use it with the foundation, blending it takes a little while because you can do only a small surface area at a time. The bristles are not that fine but I don’t notice any microabrasions that can harm and irritate the skin when I use it.

I only used this loose powder foundation after using the liquid mineral foundation. I am not sure of the results when used alone but the results when used with the liquid foundation were great! When used this way, it perfects the coverage that the liquid foundation was not able to attain. Also, it produces a matte finish. So all the downsides of the liquid foundation are eliminated when you use the loose powder foundation over it. The feel of your skin was light weight; it feels like you did not put any makeup on. The best part about this was that the claims of this being water resistant are true. I put on my makeup at around 8am in the morning and by around 6pm in the afternoon, the quality of the foundation when I first put in the morning was the same.

I highly recommend using the loose powder after the liquid foundation.

MAYBELLINE PURE PACT MINERAL UV PACT FOUNDATION

My shade is OC1. This comes in a compact packaging with a sponge included. I also used this pressed product after using its liquid foundation. I didn’t use the sponge with it because the results were too cakey. I just wanted a light finish after the liquid foundation. The results are the same with the loose powder. It is great to have a mineral foundation in pressed powder form that you can carry in your handbag since the loose powder would be quite messy when it is not stored in upright position.

I bought these products at Watsons and the prices are as follows:

Maybelline Pure Liquid Mineral Liquid Foundation BO1 P499
Maybelline Pure Foundation Powder Foundation OC1 P599
Maybelline Pure Pact Mineral UV Pact Foundation OC1 P250 for case, P449 for refill
