Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads and Physiogel Cream Review

I have oily to combination skin. I also have fair, sensitive skin. I seldom have really big pimples. But my problem is I have a lot of whiteheads and visible pores around the nose area. I also have a lot of blemishes that are all around the T zone, and my skin easily reacts to changes in weather. Even if my skin is oily, when I am exposed to cold weather (even in the Philippines) my skin would dry up. Thank goodness these problems can be concealed by a good foundation. Even if I have a busy schedule, I try my best to always make it a habit to wash my face and put on moisturizer before I sleep.

Since I have whiteheads, when I use facial scrubs at night even with the lightest hand, when I wake up the next day, I would observe irritated and red skin. I also observe little painful abrasions on my skin. I don’t know if it is the formula of the scrub or the scrub itself that irritates my skin. But because of this, I have avoided using any skin care with scrub in it.

Since I have oily skin with visible pores, dermatologists recommend I wash my face then apply toner after and do away with the moisturizer. Even if I only use toner in my T zone, just after 3 days using toner, I would have dry and irritated skin. Even the more expensive products would really dry up my skin, so I also don’t use toner anymore.

So now I just use cleanser and a lightweight moisturizer. With this routine, I don’t have breakouts and I don’t have dry or irritated skin. But even after washing my face, I still feel like I didn’t remove all the makeup I put on that day, plus I can still notice the whiteheads in my nose area. I go to facials and use nose strips every now and then but I still want something that would really clean my face.

I am still waiting for my Clarisonic to arrive in the mail but I saw the Aveeno Postitively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads when I went to S&R. I heard a lot of good reviews about Aveeno that it is really moisturizing, but a cleansing pad? I thought why not give it a try?

It is pre-moistened, self foaming, dual textured and is soap free, oil free, hypoallergenic and non comedogenic. One side of this pad is textured with small bumps and one side is smooth. This is a picture of the tub opened and the side of the pad that is textured can be seen here.

I wet my face first before using this. I used the textured side first, then wash my face and then use the smooth side. The juice in one pad is more than enough for just one wash. It feels like such a waste to throw away the pad afterwards.

After the 1st wash, I can feel my skin so soft and clean. It’s the first time in so long that I can say that my face felt really clean. Dry skin was exfoliate and I was left with just plain clean soft skin. After a few minutes of enjoying my clean skin (haha can you notice that I really loved how my skin felt), I felt a little tightness in my skin. Just a little. I didn’t wait to have irritated dry skin so I applied Physiogel cream which is a moisturizer made out of our natural lipids.

This cream is really heavy and I don’t use it in a regular basis. In seldom times like this, I use a really thin amount just to cover the whole face. But I don’t have problems with it breaking me out even if I put on a thick coat. I just don’t want to have a greasy face. Putting on my foundation the next day was a breeze! It went on smoothly and had a better look.

I highly recommend these cleansing pads. The cleansing pads can be bought at S&R for around P499. I am not sure if it is available at non-membership stores. The bad thing about this is that it only has 28 pads. I bought the Physiogel cream also at S&R for P1200 but it was with a 3 pack with a cleanser and moisturizer. I am not sure it is can be bought separately or if it is also available at our non-membership stores.
