I mentioned the Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in my post Obsessing Over Cream Foundations. I read about this product while I was researching about cream foundations and was instantly curious. I thought that it seemed like a great idea. See the product description from their official website below:
Infused with Olay Regenerist Serum and SPF 22, Simply Ageless Foundation stays suspended over fine lines and wrinkles, unlike the leading anti-aging department store foundation that can gather in wrinkles and make skin look older. Clinically shown to provide significant improvement in skin condition in just four weeks.I bought this for PHP925 from The Landmark department store, while in the hopes of finding a great drugstore cream foundation for everyday use. The anti-aging would-be effects of this product is just a bonus. Although I don't have wrinkles yet, I think it's good to start early with anti-aging efforts.
Packaging:
It comes in a shallow glass jar packaging, which almost is like a compact because it has a compartment where you can keep a sponge. The only difference is you have to screw off the top to access the foundation.
Texture and Finish:
The texture of this product is soft and smooth, turning liquid-like upon contact with the skin. It is unlike the last compact cream foundation I used, the MAC Mineralize SPF15 Foundation, which is a bit more creamy and has a firmer texture similar to a stick foundation. With this product, I almost feel like I'm applying liquid foundation instead of cream foundation. This texture may be due to the Olay Regenerist Serum which is swirled in with the foundation. Without any powder, it sets to a dewy finish after a few minutes.
Shades:
This would have been a great product for me if it weren't too pink for my skin tone. The sales attendant recommended the shade 210 Classic Ivory for me, because everything else they had was too dark for my skin. I remembered I had the same problem with Covergirl's Nature Luxe Silk Foundation which also had limited shades available.
When I applied this foundation on my face, I looked like I was wearing a painted mask. See the difference between the bare skin and the part with foundation in my arm swatch below. My skin has a very noticeable yellow undertone while the product has a pink undertone. The color difference is glaring.
All in all, this still is a pretty good product. If you can find a color match, I would recommend it. My advise is to try at least 3 shades on your skin, to ensure that you'll find a match.
