Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains Review

There is a new line of lip products from Revlon! They are called Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. These balm stains have been released for a couple of months now in the US but only became available here in the Philippines since a few weeks ago. Since its release from the US, these balm stains have received a lot of good reviews. I bought 5 shades from this line.

These balm stains come in a pencil-like tube. It is the same as other lipsticks that you can twist up when you need more product.

Compared to the old version of the balm stain...

The old version had one side with the stain and the other side with the balm. The stain of the old version was applied with a felt tip. Then after applying the stain, you would then apply the balm which was on the other side. The new version of the balm stain have these two elements combined into one product.

What I observed especially for the dark tinted stains is that before you apply these stains, you have to make sure that your lips are well moisturized with a lip balm. If you apply it on dry lips, the balm stains would not go smoothly and would leave patches of color which are particularly difficult to go over. Also, when the color fades after a few hours, it would fade in patches. Applying a lip balm that is not too slick aids in the application of these balm stains to make it more smooth and even.

I observed these balm stains to be a little minty. You could smell it from the tube and you could also smell it while applying it on your lips. But I noticed this smell disappeared after about 5 minutes after application. This did not have any plumping effect whatsoever.

The shine (like a lip gloss) of the balm stain remains on your lips for about 2-3 hours while the color stain stays on for about 5 hours. The color tends to fade more from the center of the lips than the edges. After around 5 hours, it looks like you have a lip liner on.

Romantic 045: A warm, bright red

Sweetheart 025: An intense, hot pink. I think this is the most intense among all the colors that I have. The color payoff on my lips is more intense than what I expected.

Cherish 015: This is a pale pink.

Honey 001: This is the most wearble pink. This is the color that I recommend and is compatible with almost all skin tones. This is the balm stain that I usually use in a day to day basis.

Precious 050: This lip color is another favourite. It is a nude color. But after awhile, with repeated application, the color grows into like a chestnut color, similar to that which is found on its tube.

My favourite ones from this bunch are Sweetheat, Honey and Precious.
